Podcasts: Watch This Space

(Please note that this site is under construction!!! Things will change soon)

Welcome to this brand new site. Compared to my other sites, there isn't much to see yet! After a few interesting conversations in recent months, it occurred to me that since one in ten people in the world seems to be doing a podcast these days, I might as well have a go myself. So far that's all. I've bought one semi-professional microphone, which you can see pictured right here (or at least if you can't see it now, you will soon). I've got a fair bit to learn before we get there. Not just the microphone, but also the recording software. I will also need my prospective podcasting partner (PPP) to get back in regular communication! He's gone missing a little bit.

OK, so what's the podcast going to be about? If you already had a look at my other websites, you might already have an idea. I'll be talking a bit about the English language. Why not? I'm a teacher of it (see here if you haven't yet), and a bit more than that. So, yes, I'll (we'll) be talking quite a lot about the English language and about Anglo-Saxon culture. But you can easily enough assume that it's going to be quite a lot more than that. I have two blogs. One of them - The Middle East Film Festival is very very specific, with its own history of development. The other - Blog Heatopher - is as yet embryonic, and it will take a little time until some more writing appears on there. Let me finish all these sites first!!!

That's all for now, Folks. Give it a month or two before anything starts to happen here 🤓

P.S. While this site is still in development, I'd like to ask my allies and friends (and newcoming sympathetic parties :~) to help me out a bit. Contrary to what you may have understood from advertising that you've heard on podcasts or elsewhere, creating a beautiful website, which you can maintain and update for years to come, without paying endless exhorbitant rent, is no trivial process. I've done all of this by myself, and I'm quite proud of that. But the job isn't done yet. There are still decisions to be made about fonts and colour schemes for this site, and for the others which I have been working on. Find them all here. I had a chat the other day with ChatGPT and Deepseek about suitable fonts for this site and the others. I've got a few in mind. Check them out here, and let me know which you prefer.

Here's a very very simple form, which will of course become something a bit more fancy eventually, but for now you can use it to send me a message:
